Is there a file bound to each record?

A record in the Findbuch may be linked to a file; there are however records which simply are of informational nature (this is marked in the data field “Signature” with the comment: “Kein Aktenbestand” (“no file holdings”). Finding the record pertaining to a file is no guarantee for being able to view the file or being issued with copies of the documents. Responsibility for granting access authorization and producing the files for viewing lies exclusively with the archive holding the files.
